i used to send him my work in progress albums and he would text back his impressions as he was listening. i finished this right before he died and he never got to hear the final cut. i used our texts to write this description - most of it is his, some mine:

a melancholic high - delicate, drifting drones, effected piano, sweet buzzy synths, strange samples come and go and repeat. anxiety that fuzzes out at the edges, vocals chopped to pieces, crackle, warp, fade out. bells.. wind chimes? slowed - next to an ocean that isn't an ocean. i feel like i'm trapped on a spaceship with A LOT of birds. they ARE birds and you ARE on a space ship. grotesque. there's a weird center here. calm but.. what is all this gurgling? something has been turned inside-out
